**HOL Quidditch is currently undergoing a revision. Trivia rules discussed in this class were valid from the 2001/2002 to 2019/2020 school years.
Many people are hesitant to learn how to Seek because they think trivia knowledge is extremely important in HOL Quidditch. While that is definitely true for Quaffleplay, it is much less so for Snitchplay. It is possible to catch the Snitch without answering a single trivia question correctly.
Knowing a decent number of trivia answers can only help you as a Seeker. When you answer 5 trivia questions correctly, you are given a clue location. You can only have one clue location at a time. Even if you keep answering trivia questions while you have a clue location, the count will only reset after you have visited that clue location. The Seeker who moved first will receive clue locations in order (1 to 5), while the other Seeker will get them in reverse order (5 to 1). Having good trivia knowledge tends to speed up the match. Less time is used up when you are not waiting the full 30 seconds to expire for each trivia question.
Any time that a trivia question is triggered, both Seekers can answer, not just the Seeker who entered the location. Even Seekers who are "knocked out" due to a Bludger or a Wronski Feint can still attempt to answer trivia questions.
Trivia questions will be in this format:
<ScarletRef> [Seeker] has entered a Trivia Square.
<ScarletRef> 5
<ScarletRef> 4
<ScarletRef> 3
<ScarletRef> 2
<ScarletRef> 1
<ScarletRef> What color is Fudge's tie in Book 2?
Botting is the best way to improve your trivia knowledge. It can be helpful to bot with someone who knows the answers to longer questions to speed up the botting session. I started out learning trivia answers that were short and quick to type, like numbers and days of the week. Since my HOL name is a trivia answer, I would remember those questions. I like colors in general, so I learned trivia questions with colors in the answer. You can also try to get a copy of the official HOL Quidditch question set to read through. Some people have premade lists for chapters and years printed out or on their screen during matches.
This would not be a Quidditch trivia lesson without a mention of typing speed. If your trivia knowledge is similar to that of your usual opponents, increasing your typing speed may give you an edge. There are various typing exercises and typing games online. Another way to practice is to run two bots at the same time and double bot trivia.

Bot in #argelfraster! on IRC. Choose 5 different question sets and answer 5 questions correctly on each. You will receive a logic puzzle clue for every set of 5 questions that you complete. After you send me proof of your botting, I will provide you with the puzzle. For full points, solve the logic puzzle!
Quiz is often busy in other channels, so it is better for you to use Fiddlesticks or Jasper.
